Keynote presentation:

Death Anxiety: The Hidden Driver of Psychological Distress

Dr Rachel Menzies is a Lecturer at the University of Sydney, where she completed her Honours, Masters and PhD degrees in psychology. Rachel’s research on death anxiety and its role in mental health has been awarded various prizes, including the Australian Psychological Society (APS) national PhD Prize and APS Early Career Research Award. Rachel has published five books on the topic of existential issues, with a sixth being released in 2026. In addition to her academic work, Rachel is a clinical psychologist and director of the Menzies Anxiety Centre, which she established to improve access to psychological treatment for death anxiety.
